Jack Aranson
"is an actor of magnificent range and depth." He went to
London for a two-year apprenticeship at the Old Vic Theatre before touring
Ireland in many Shakespearean roles. He has played in Dublin, London, Paris,
Stockholm, Copenhagen, and New York, as well as other principal cities in
the United States. Audiences have seen him in a variety of roles from the
classical and contemporary repertoire including: Hamlet, Mac Beth, Shylock,
Hotspur, Iago, Oedipus Rex, Dr. Faustus, Sir John Falstaff, James Tyrone,
Othello, Captain Boyle, Christopher Mahon, Henry Higgins, and Dylan
Thomas.
He was called San Francisco's "renaissance man of the theatre"
where he was actor/manager of his own company for many years, and he has
starred in the national tours of Dylan and DA. Jack Aranson also performs
one-man shows: The World of Dylan Thomas, Moby Dick, Oscar Wilde
Revisited,
and with his wife, opera star Claudia Cummings, they
perform a music and drama duo called I Am of Ireland, a
concert version of My Fair Lady and Cavalcade!, an
evening of comedy and romance in speech and song. All these shows have been
seen in over 300 cities in America and Europe. Because of his
distinguished theatrical career, Jack Aranson was recently
awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from
Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York. |
